How to Get an Instagram Session ID

The session ID is essential for automated DM sending—just follow the steps below and you’ll be done in no time!

Precautions

  • The session ID will expire in approximately one hour.
  • Your session ID is sensitive information, like your password. Never share it with anyone.
  • Logging out of Instagram invalidates your session ID.
  • When you log in from a new device or browser, a new session ID is generated.

Prerequisite

  • Modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Safari
  • Instagram account login

Log in to the Instagram website

In the Chrome browser instagram.comAccess and log in.

Open Developer Tools

Press the F12 key, or right-click and select "Inspect. "
On Mac, you can use Cmd + Option + I.

Go to the Application tab

Click the "Application" tab at the top of the developer tools. If the "
" tab is not visible, click the >> button to find it in the more options menu.

Cookies Section Expansion

Click "Storage" → "Cookies" → "https://www.instagram.com"in the left sidebar.

Finding the session ID

From the cookie list sessionidLooking for.
In the top filter input field sessionidEnter it to find it quickly.

Copy Session ID Value

Click the "sessionid" row to display detailed information at the bottom.
Double-click the value in the"Value" field to select the entire string, then copy it.
(The value is a long string combining numbers and letters)

Paste into Scout Manager

Paste the copied session ID into the "Instagram Session ID" input field on Scout Manager's DM sending screen.

Done!

You can now automatically send DMs to influencers from Scout Manager.

Frequently Asked Questions

Session ID not found

Make sure you're logged in to Instagram. Session IDs may not be saved in incognito or private browsing mode.

The session ID isn't working.

Your session ID may have expired. Please refresh the Instagram page and try copying a new session ID.
